Fresh off an MVP award, this is going to be a controversial topic, but if you look at his numbers Derrick Rose is overrated. Sure, he’s a great player and had a very good season, but when I hear people talk about him as the best point guard in the league, I cringe.

Many are even considering him a top 5 player, which is even more ridiculous to me. If you take a closer look at the numbers there should be no way that anyone can consider him as the top 5 player.

I can hear the Rose fans now, saying, “He averaged 25 ppg and led Chicago to the best record”, that’s a great achievement but points per game is the most overrated statistic. Almost any decent player in the league can average 20 points if they get the chance to shoot 20 times a game. I am more interested in how efficient the player is at getting those points.
