The most anticipated Jordan sneaker, and sneaker in general, of 2011 is approaching us. Sneakerheads and average joes have been buzzing about the upcoming release since the leaked images and details this past Summer. Other than the DMP (Defining Moments Pack) XIs that were slightly varied with gold, the Concords haven’t been seen since Y2K. Which makes the hype even stronger. Jordan has stayed true to the trend of dropping a pair of XIs near the holiday for the past three years now, and rumor has it he won’t stop by supposedly releasing the Columbia XIs for the 2012 holiday.
Back to the Concords, these are the OG pair that were debuted early by Jordan despite his orders not to from creator/genius, Tinker Hatfield. The Concords feature a crispy white upper with the sleek and iconic black patent leather wrapping around the lower portion of the upper. Black fills the sock liner which transitions outward at the achilles and features a white “23″ in a box shape. Black also rocks the upper heel Jumpman and mid-tongue “bar” that displays “Jumpman Jordan” sideways that’s separated by a Concord Jumpman. The Jumpman on the upper heel of the left shoe used to be flipped the wrong way on the previous versions, but on this retro the Jumpman is facing the traditional direction. The midsole is completely white, typically seen on all XIs and the outsole is the popular icy blue clear sole.
The demand for these are Curren$y high, and will be limited in pairs per size at most retailers. If you’re copping online at midnight, be ready to refresh that page cuz the orders will be flooding in. Or if you’re camping out like me, you better get your spot early cuz Footlockers around the world will look like Krzyzewskiville outside Cameron before a Duke game.
The release date is this Friday, December 23rd and will be avialable most places online at midnight. Retail is set at a wallet draining $180, but the price just matches the hype. Happy hunting Sneakerheads and Merry Kicksmas!
